Just before leaving on vacation we noticed that Hobo was "off" a bit, unsure what was wrong though. Nothing major just enough to know something was a miss. Over the last week or so he seems to flux between normal and this "offness". The last few days his appetite has been down, he's been lethargic which also seems to come and go and last night he literally fell over with a glazed looked in his eyes so today we visited our vet.
After all the testing today it seems our guy has a large cancerous mass in his belly that is intermittently bleeding into the cavity. As of now he has a couple pints of blood in his abdomen and there is no cure or treatment. The blood loss has him feeling week and explains the low energy. Thankfully there is no pain and he is not suffering.
Aww, poor thing. So sorry.ReplyDelete

He is getting lots of love and is resting quietly
So sorry :(ReplyDelete
Oh no, I am so sorry :( That photo is just precious. At least he's not in any pain right now. Hopefully you can spend a lot of time with him and shower him with love. Give him a hug for me!ReplyDelete
He is resting quietly and as usual getting lots of love. Its hard to see our animals get older. The circle of life is hard. We're finding comfort in knowing he isn't in pain and that because we saved him 10 years ago he's had great life.
OH NO !!! I will be praying... I am so happy he is pain free .. I pray that GOD gives you lots more time with him for sure... HUGS and your sweet pup is in my prayers........... TOODLES, Sherry @ The Rusty PearlReplyDelete

I'm sure you are doing all you need to do for him: Love him, love him, and love him. He's a kind dog, isn't he?ReplyDelete
We are and he is. We've had him for 9 or 10 years and he is incredibly gentle and kind. He's Monkeys first doggie and is a rescue.
So very sorry to hear this.ReplyDelete
