We just finished up the last of our candy cane stash from Christmas. At first he didn't know what they were or liked the taste but learned quickly they were a yummy treat. This is Chances are you sure we are out of peppermint face. Well, okay then what else you got? I'm a treat monster and I'd love anything you want to give me.
When I rescued him I did so knowing I was helping to save one, to make a small difference. Funny how we think we're helping an animal when perhaps they are really helping us.
The Joy this guy brings me everyday is incredible. I am so lucky and thankful I get to work from home. I take a two hour daily break from my job and spend the time outside. Soaking in the weather, fresh air and playing with Chance. I always look forward to lunch time, they never seem to come fast enough.
Life is SO good!
You might have to make a run to the store just for special treats for Chance. You know you can't deny that cute face his little treats. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, he had a carrot today :) I have created such a treat monster but that's okay :)
DeleteWhat a funny photo! All my animals tend to be treat monsters too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you that you get to work from home and take a break outside each day. Sounds lovely!
Yes I know I created the treat monsters over here. I don't mind though and LOVE the greetings I get from everyone when they see me coming. The girls are super loud and funny, the dogs do a treat dance and Chance knickers and get the crazy lip thing going. #super blessed.
DeleteLife is soooo Good. I love how your posts remind me of this. Awesome.

ReplyDeleteThanks Dani!
DeleteYou are so lucky!!
ReplyDeleteI know I am friend :) Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!
Deletemy gelding loves peppermints. some of the stables seem to use them to call horses in from the field - by rattling the wrappers. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Tex
DeleteYou could never tell he did't like them a year ago that for sure. So true the wrapper noise is all you need to get them come running. I spent some time visiting your blog last night really love your photos. SO so good. Are you on flickr to or only meme's?
He's so handsome! My horse in high school used to love peppermints, but my horse now prefers carrots or apples.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa
DeleteHe is a total treat monster and likes anything now. In the beginning he didn't know what it was, although you couldn't tell today... loves it.
I saw your guy, he is awesome! Loved the photo of you and your son, so cute.
Have a great day!

Wonderful post, and I could not agree more! I think I'll head out into the barnyard right now and remind all the animals how much they mean to me using our language of love - treats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. Yes please tell Doink and Brandy hi for me while you're out there. They sure do love our language haha. You crack me up.
DeleteOh my.. how I love this post! Chance is such a sweetie.. I adore the expression! I agree.. do we really rescue them, or do they rescue us? Methinks a li'l of both ♥ I never thought about giving my little donks some candy canes.. hmmm, maybe a little piece. They do like the small peppermint horse treats! have a fabulous Friday and weekend.. -Tammy
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy,
DeleteI bet they'll love them especially if they like the horse ones.
Have a great weekend friend
