A special brunch

There was baking and...

flower arranging...

sewing of napkins, shower gifts and...

finally...... setting the table for the long awaited baby brunch.

Saturday was perfect! Great weather, good company and a wonderful celebration for a friend and her beautiful.happy.healthy.perfect little bundle of joy.

Our weekend trip

Friday's "moment" was me preparing for a weekend drive to the lake. I find that the first thing I always pack is my knitting bag. I can't think of anything better than relaxing and knitting the time away as the musical handy man drives.

The dogs like the ride too. While Jack is keeping an eye on the road,

Hobo is relaxing.

Saturday there was good food,

good drinks and good company as we spent the day with Lap Dog and her husband.

Of course there was swimming and relaxing too.
I have a busy week with a nationals test for work and a baby shower brunch I am hosting Saturday so I will try to be back in a couple days otherwise I will be back for sure with Fridays Moment. Have a wonderful week!

Making Progress

~ Progress - In action. Movement, as towards a goal ~

Decreasing chiropractor visits to 2x's a week ~ check

Working towards good health and the day broken backs and car wrecks are in the rear view mirror of my life ~ check

Life is full of action, movement and goals that take us on different journeys some easy some difficult, but all with a lesson in the end. I am looking forward to the next step in the process of progress. Life is uncertain and ever changing and yet... oh so good.

Lots of fresh air...

Our weekend was filled with lots of time outside. After work Saturday and in between studying...


I went for a nice hike in the hills with Shelbs and our friend Christy.

The yellow weeds with their wild flowers were everywhere. It was really pretty seeing them swaying in the wind. At the end of the trail we ran into two snakes...Yikes... One was a really BIG rattle snake who was I think enjoying sun bathing. It took him a few minutes to get off the trail but thankfully he did so we could continue on.

We took a little break at "The Rock" which sits high on a hill top and where you can look out 360 degrees and see forever.

Saturday night the musical handy man had a gig. Yep, I really do LOVE to watch him play.

Mothers day we went down to the beach after church for snackies and a walk.

Perspective

Shelbs and I went to the market last night and the cashier greeted us with "Hi, you're the lady who doesn't like to waste plastic and rolls in here with those awesome bags, I love them they are so great!"

I guess that's how I'm seen at my local market now and well, I am okay with that.

This picture was taken a few weeks back and has become a favorite of mine. This is my son and I out enjoying a nice hike in the hills. I am so thankful for those extra minutes that we ((squeeze)) in for each other, especially when life gets extra busy.

Today

The "vest" for the musical handy man is coming along nicely. This is such a quick knit and I am really loving this yarn. It is so soft and easy to work with and I am really happy I chose it for this project. The back panel is done and while I was laying it out to take a picture to share...

Jack ran over, I think he thought it was for him?

With the busyness of this week I am hoping to be able to knit a little on it every night. See you Friday with "this moment".

This weekend

We said goodbye to April and we welcomed the month of May. I am looking forward to the warm sunshine and beautiful flowers brought by April showers.

We enjoyed our first lettuce of the season from our garden. Yum!

There was rest and relaxation as well. Meet Hobo our other puppy love. This is his debut on the blog and he's doing what he loves best.

We finished the weekend off quietly with Pasta Sunday and a movie, The Blind Side. Oh my gosh, I loved it! If you haven't seen this movie I recommend renting it. Shelbs and I both think it could be the new favorite in our house. Okay, gotta get going as I have another very busy week ahead me.
