The Good, The Bad And A Jelly Belly Binge...

I don't have a sweet tooth and I don't crave chocolate or sugar, usually. I don't know what the deal is but lately I have been enjoying my fair share as well as a few dozen other peoples fair share of those darn delicious Jelly get in my Belly Beans.

A handful of these babies (about 35 pieces) is only 100 calories.  I know it's all sugar but it's only 100 calories at least that's what I told myself. I have been picking up a small bag whenever I went into town and a couple weeks ago I was at our local big warehouse store and they had a huge container of beans. This was fantastic and my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't wait to dive into them! My favorite is the cherry and watermelon or maybe its the black licorice...Who am I kidding I enjoyed them all...Okay here's where it went from BAD to down right ugly. I ate almost all of them by myself, yikes!

Shockingly, this week my clothes don't fit and I feel sluggish. I think I have officially burned myself out on the whole refined sugar thing and that's a GOOD thing.
I'm thankful for the fresh clean greens that my garden is full of right now so as of yesterday I'm back to juicing.
Here's to giving myself some time this week to cleanse, get balanced and hoping I don't starve in the process lol... Cheers

Have you entered to win this image yet? I'll be drawing a winner this Friday

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

  1. I love jelly beans too! But I have learned to stay away from refined sugar because it causes cravings and does other bad things to the body. Stick with fresh fruit and veggies and you'll be fine. :)

    1. Hi Gail, you're exactly right friend. I am usually good with sweets meaning I don't crave them and treat myself sometimes but in moderation. Once refined is in everything get off kilter.

  2. I personally believe that no food or treat is bad for you - only lack of moderation is bad. I think letting yourself have the small bag of jelly beans sometimes is good, because then you don't make them "forbidden" and tempting.

    1. Thanks Robin, that's great advice. I'm usually okay but the last couple weeks I wasn't just stopping for a bag here and there but then I added the huge tub... Oh well life is good and I'm day two into the cleansing out the refined sugar :)

  4. you know I love this! How is it the best cup cake maker in the universe doesn't "have a sweet tooth?" I miss your cup cakes. I remember even driving to Brea street market because we were going to be out of town for the regular Fullerton market. It's when I bought the beanie with the peace sign. The beanie that brought us together!! I still love that story. All the sweet talk had me thinking of your cup cakes. xo Love your friend Tracie

    1. Thanks T, I love thinking back to those days, such an interesting time. I love to cook and bake and can do so without eating everything...Well usually I do but these darn ol beans where just too much.... I couldn't stand that they were in the cupboard and kept grabbing handfuls. Moderation is key but apparently once this time around. I love that you love my cup cakes and camo beanies that radiate peace... Come out for a visit and I'll bake you some! YOU are amazing and I am so thankful for your friendship... :)

  5. I do have a major sweet tooth, and go through binges every once in a while! It's all about balance, and sometimes I am better than others. It's so hard to stop at just a few jelly beans though!

  7. Ha! My weakness is Sour Patch Kids. LOVE them. I have two rules: I only buy them at Home Depot, and they stay in the car. That way I know I'm about to do some kind of building project so I'll be burning some calories AND I don't drive very much!

    1. Oh gosh I would hate to see my face if I binged on chocolate instead of the jellies... oh boy. Moderation, that's where it's at but for now I just need to clean the refined out of my system
