Sunny and Warm...

The weather man says we have a really good chance of rain next week. Fingers crossed... We need it so badly. We are in the tenth year of a drought and this winter has been by far the driest that I remember.  Since getting Chance, adding more animals and expanding my garden I do pay close attention to the weather. When working towards a self sustaining life style and living in the boonies it's amazing how much more tuned in you are to the earth and I do love that.

This week it's been warm and windy. The other night at dusk the wind stopped and the dust particles floating around seemed to grab some extra color for another beautiful sunset over the ranch.

This weekend we have family visiting and are super excited. We'll also be finishing Ms Punkin Pies shelter just in case the rain really makes it our way but also for sun protection as summers here are very warm.

Linking up with Sky Watch Friday.

Happy Weekending,
Jen

  1. It looks like a Pumkin Pie sky....just lovely. I have my fingers and toes crossed that it will rain in your area soon. A farmer's rain would be perfect soft and long not one of those rains that just drench everything and stop in a little while.

  7. That photo - just wow! You really do live in paradise. I agree how living in the boonies makes you more in tune with nature. Since keeping chickens I feel so connected to nature because I wake at dawn to let them out, then lock them up at dusk. I like seeing the change in time and when the days get longer. I hope you get some rain soon!

PS - Thanks for the sweet comment on my food post this week! :)

  11. Gorgeous sunset, such beautiful colours. I do hope the rain comes your way, 10 years of drought is hard to take. We badly need rain here too. Some areas nearby have had more than their share recently, but it seems to pass us by. Fingers crossed for you.
