The kitchen is without a doubt the heart of our home. My family and I enjoy our time gathered around a meal as much as we enjoy the preparation part of a meal. There is a lot of silliness and seriousness that comes out of our kitchen on any given day. Homework questions::schedules::future plans::dreaming and an occasional song and even a dance. Many of our meals are attached with a new memory or a old tradition.
Today after working I made a batch of my families favorite homemade granola and after waiting 80 days I was able to bottle another batch of Limoncello. It is already in the freezer and I am looking forward to tomorrow and our Pasta Sunday where we will be sampling it. I am off to enjoy a nice long walk with the brown dog before heading back to the kitchen to prepare tonights dinner.
Happy Saturday. I hope your days is filled with things that bring you much joy!
Wow.
ReplyDeleteLimoncello!
Granola!
Pasta Sunday!
I SO wish I was in your kitchen right now!!
Growing up with my Italian Mama, there is most certainly food tradtions in our house.
Started by my Grandmama who spoke Italian and food was how she expressed her love to her husband and 9 children.
Everytime we make the Gnocchis or Raviolis,I know she is with us and we are making her proud.
Happy Sunday,Jen!
Awesome, you inspire me to get into the kitchen, husband is hoping for some lemon bars today and the picture of the limoncello reminds me it's time to add the simple syrup!!
ReplyDeleteSon is home today - I miss him so much, he's seldom here because in your 20's life is waiting for you to go out and grab it and thoughts of spending your one day off sitting along side Mother is not at the top of the list, so I'll settle with cooking breakfast and taking whatever time he'll spend with me.Hopefully he'll eat REALLY slowly!!
Have a great pasta Sunday!!
