a box of threads

We are a week into Autumn and it is apparent that Mother Nature didn't get the memo. This week we have broken all record highs, Monday we hit 113 degrees! Today it is cloudy and a bit cooler at a whopping 98 degrees.
a box of threads
I am dreaming of wool fibers, sweaters and busting out my boots but until then I am so thankful for air conditioning and indoor activities. This is monkey girl making friendship bracelets for her buddies. I love her sock invention to help hold the thread.

Happy Wednesday!

Falling for Fall

falling for fall
Since it takes a while before Southern California see's any beautiful colored falling leaves I decided to make my own.
coloring leaves
Yep they were good, a bit to good perhaps because I enjoyed more than I should have and now I have cookie pains in my belly and a sugar headache, ugh. The musical handy man has a gig at the beach tonight and I am taking some to share with friends. If they stay here it could get really ugly, haha. I am looking forward to a cool evening tonight, as I type this it is 102 degrees outside!

Here's wishing you a Happy Weekend!

Hello Autumn,

Hello Fall come on in
Welcome, come on in and stay a while wont you. The Fall Equinox began at 3:09 this morning and I couldnt be happier. I really do love this time of year. I love the warm days, cool evenings, the beautiful colors, football, cassoroles, soups, pumpkin pie and the renewed anticipation of sewing and knitting after a quiet summer.

August
The weather is beginning to change and my fingers are itching for extra time with my knitting needles. I am feeling a strong pull back to my sewing machine that has sat quiet all summer long. The desire and inspiration to create is growing stronger in me everyday. I have enjoyed summer greatly and am now looking forward to fall, my favorite time of year with much antisipation. I hope you had a wonderful summer too and wonder if you are also feeling the pull of Autumn?
